The medication reminder that refuses to be forgotten
Ordinary reminders get swiped away and lost. TapPill's alarms come back until you act, and can even speak, in the device's voice or one you record yourself. Flexible schedules, refill tracking, doctor-ready reports. All free, all private, all in your browser.
Currently 100% free. A free email account is required; no payment or card details are needed.
Everything a serious medication tracker should do
Built for real lives: complicated schedules, heavy sleepers, busy carers and anyone whose brain files a notification under "done" the moment it's dismissed.
Alarms that come back
Choose a persistence level for every medication: a gentle ping for vitamins, a reminder that returns every few minutes, or a full-screen alarm with repeating sound for doses you can't afford to miss. Snoozed doses return on their own. Even doses that come due while TapPill was closed alarm the moment you return.
Reminders that speak
After a one-tap browser audio check, hear your reminder read aloud: "Time for your Lisinopril, 20 milligrams." Or record up to ten seconds of your own voice, so Mum hears you, not a chime. Spoken and recorded audio works while TapPill is open.
Schedules that fit real life
Daily at multiple times, specific days, every-X-days counted from your last taken dose, and full cycle support such as 21 days on, 7 off. A late dose shifts the schedule instead of nagging at the wrong moment.
Running late? One tap.
Shift every remaining dose today by 30 minutes, an hour or two hours in a single tap. Built for shift workers, travel days and lie-ins; the alarms simply follow you.
As-needed with a safety lock
Track painkillers and other as-needed medication with a minimum-gap timer that locks the log button until it's safe to take another dose, helping prevent accidental double dosing.
Never run out, never expired
Record your stock once and TapPill counts down with every dose, warning before the packet runs empty, and flags medication approaching or past its expiry date.
Doctor-ready reports
One tap produces a printable compliance report: your medications, 30-day adherence rate and a complete dose log, including the reason every skipped dose was skipped. The honest record clinicians actually want.
Private by design
There is no server database of your medication details: we store your account email, and optional closed-app reminders store only an anonymous push endpoint and reminder timestamps, never medication names or doses. Export or erase everything whenever you like.
Works everywhere, instantly
iPhone, Android, tablet or desktop, in the browser you already have. No app store, no download, no update nags. Add it to your home screen and it works offline.
Working in under a minute
No download, no card details, nothing to install. It's a web app: open it and go.
Add your medication
Name, dose, schedule and how loudly you want reminding, from gentle to impossible-to-ignore.
Live your life
TapPill watches the clock. When a dose is due it reminds you, and keeps reminding you until you respond.
Tap when you take it
One tap logs the dose, updates your stock and builds the adherence record your doctor can actually use.

Why missed doses happen, and how TapPill is built to stop them
Roughly half of all long-term medication isn't taken as prescribed, and the single most common reason is the simplest one: forgetting. Not carelessness, biology. A phone notification arrives while you're cooking, driving or mid-conversation; you dismiss it intending to act in a minute, and your brain quietly marks the task complete. By the time your hands are free, the reminder, and the dose, is gone.
A medication alarm only works if it survives that moment. That's the entire design philosophy behind TapPill: a pill reminder should be persistent enough to outlast a distraction, and polite enough not to become noise. So instead of one-size-fits-all notifications, every medication gets its own persistence level. Your daily vitamin can whisper. Your thyroid medication, blood-pressure tablet or contraceptive pill can escalate to a full-screen alarm that repeats until you tell it, honestly, what happened: taken, snoozed, or skipped with a reason.
Built for the people reminders usually fail
People with ADHD know the dismissed-and-forgotten cycle better than anyone, which is why TapPill's returning alarms and one-tap logging remove every possible point of friction between "reminded" and "done". Shift workers and travellers get schedules counted from the last dose actually taken, rather than a rigid clock that nags at 8 a.m. regardless of when the night shift ended. Heavy sleepers get quiet hours so alarms respect the night, then resume in the morning. And carers managing medication for a parent or partner get a printable record that turns "I think she's been taking them" into a documented adherence report.
Your health data is nobody's business, literally
Many health apps route medication lists through their servers. TapPill keeps medication names, doses, schedules, recordings and history in your browser on your device. Optional closed-app reminders send only anonymous timing information to the reminder service. That's not a premium privacy tier; it's the architecture. The trade-off is honest too: you're responsible for backups (one tap exports a CSV), and reminders depend on your device being on, which is why TapPill also tells you plainly, on this page and in the app, that no reminder tool should ever be your only safeguard for critical medication.
Free is the model, not a trick.
TapPill currently makes every feature available without a paid subscription, including unlimited medications, persistent alarms, safety gaps, refill warnings and doctor-ready reports. No countdown, no locked buttons and no payment card. Open the app, add your first medication, and let TapPill do the remembering.
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about how TapPill works, what it costs (nothing) and where your data lives (with you).
Is TapPill really free?
Yes. Every feature in TapPill is free: unlimited medications, persistent alarms, flexible schedules, refill tracking, doctor reports and exports. There is currently no premium tier and no feature paywall. After three free sessions we ask for a free account (just your email, never payment details); every feature remains free with the account. TapPill currently has no paid subscription and no advertising.
Do I need to create an account or download anything?
There is nothing to download: TapPill runs in your web browser and can be added to your home screen, where it works offline. You can try TapPill for three sessions. After that, create a free email account (just your email, no payment details) which keeps every feature unlocked on this device. Your medication data itself always stays on your device.
What makes TapPill's reminders different from ordinary notifications?
Ordinary notifications are easy to swipe away and forget. TapPill lets you choose a persistence level for each medication: a gentle single ping for vitamins, a persistent reminder that returns every few minutes until you act, or a full-screen alarm with repeating sound for doses you cannot afford to miss. Snoozed and ignored doses come back on their own.
Can TapPill handle complicated medication schedules?
Yes. TapPill supports daily doses at multiple times, specific days of the week, every-X-days schedules counted from your last taken dose, and as-needed medication with a minimum-gap safety lock to help prevent accidental double dosing. Quiet hours silence reminders while you sleep.
Where is my medication data stored?
Only on your own device, in your browser's local storage. TapPill has no server database of your medications, so medication names, schedules and history are never uploaded, sold or shared. You can export a CSV backup or erase everything at any time from Settings.
Can I share my medication history with my doctor?
Yes. TapPill generates a printable compliance report showing your medications, your 30-day adherence rate and a full dose log with skip reasons, formatted for appointments. You can also export your complete history as a CSV file.
When do reminders ring?
While TapPill is open, it can show its full repeating alarm, voice and vibration. When Reliable Reminders are enabled, supported devices can receive a generic system notification while the app is closed and online. Browser and operating-system rules still apply: TapPill cannot override silent mode, Focus, battery restrictions or a switched-off device. Tapping the notification opens TapPill and starts the detailed on-device reminder.
Can TapPill speak my reminders aloud?
Yes, while TapPill is open. Spoken reminders use your device's built-in voice, or you can record up to ten seconds of a familiar voice per medication. Browsers require you to press the Sound & voice test once before automatic audio can start. When TapPill is fully closed, the device can show a system notification but cannot play TapPill's custom spoken or recorded voice until the app opens.
Does TapPill work offline?
Yes. Once loaded, TapPill and its locally stored medication records can work without an internet connection. Closed-app Reliable Reminders require internet access.
Does TapPill track refills and running out of medication?
Yes. You can record your current stock for each medication and set a low-stock threshold. TapPill counts down as you log doses and warns you before you run out, so you can reorder in time.
Is TapPill suitable for ADHD, shift workers or carers?
TapPill was designed around exactly these situations: escalating alarms for people who dismiss notifications without registering them, interval schedules counted from the last dose taken rather than a rigid clock, quiet hours for irregular sleep, and printable reports that help carers and clinicians see the full picture.
Is TapPill medical advice?
No. TapPill is a personal reminder and record-keeping tool. It does not diagnose, treat or make recommendations about any medication, and reminders depend on your device settings. Always follow the instructions of your doctor and pharmacist, and never rely on any app as your only safeguard for critical medication.
Your next dose, remembered.
Thirty seconds from now you could have your first medication set up with an alarm that simply will not give up on you.
